The Foreign Student Service (FSS) foundation is a national first-line organization at the service of foreign students in the Netherlands as well as of those who want to come to the Netherlands for study, periods of training or research.

For the purpose of service provision, the FSS carries out the following tasks and
activities:

  • study information
  • general provision of information concerning study and residence
  • publications in the area of provision of study information
  • personal assistance
  • taking out health insurance
  • providing support for the work which International Students' Clubs and groups of, and for, foreign students carry out locally
  • Providing information on Dutch language courses in the Netherlands
ISIS Insurance through FSS

For 55 years, advice and assistance in taking out insurances has been an important part of the service offered by FSS to foreign students. In particular FSS advises which health insurance best suits each individual case. FSS also provides the ISIS insurance, which is intended for non-Dutch citizens who come to the Netherlands to study. Their families can also be insured. The policy provides the necessary coverage for illness, accidents or personal liability during one's stay in the Netherlands.
